At the International School of Bologna, we are always looking for innovative ways to inspire curiosity and a love for learning among our students. Today, we had the incredible opportunity to host the Planetario of Vega Skywatching, bringing an immersive and interactive space experience directly to our school.

The highlight of the event was the inflatable planetarium—an impressive dome that transformed into a gateway to the universe. As students stepped inside, they were immediately surrounded by a breathtaking 360° projection of the cosmos. This unique setup allowed them to embark on a visual journey through space, making learning both dynamic and engaging.

Guided by expert astronomers, students explored the wonders of our solar system, traveling from Mercury to Neptune and learning fascinating details about each planet. They discovered the swirling storms of Jupiter, the icy rings of Saturn, and even the potential for life on Mars. The session also included an in-depth look at Earth from a global perspective, offering insights into its atmosphere, geography, and place in the vastness of space.

Beyond just facts and figures, the experience encouraged students to ask questions, think critically, and engage in discussions about the mysteries of the universe. It was a perfect blend of science and storytelling, allowing them to grasp complex astronomical concepts in an exciting and accessible way.

At ISB, we believe that hands-on, experiential learning opportunities like this help foster a deep appreciation for science, exploration, and discovery. The Planetario of Vega Skywatching not only expanded our students’ knowledge but also sparked their imagination, inspiring future astronomers, scientists, and space enthusiasts.

We look forward to bringing more enriching experiences like this to our school, ensuring that our students continue to explore, question, and dream big!
